Art Nomura

Narrative

Production stills from the landmark Asian American production, Lotusland (1991). This unconventional pilot for the first TV series featuring Asian American characters was written and produced by Art Nomura and John Esaki. Along with director Walt Louie, they created a world inhabited by authentic contemporary Asian Americans living in Southern California. A dramedy that features non-stereotypical Asian American characters and stories.  The production included a stellar cast of established and emerging minority talent including Amy Hill, Roger Aaron Brown, Geoff Rivas, Joey Miyashima, Jeff Yuen, James Lesure, and many others.
